Marlborough is a beautiful market town and situated in the rural north-east of the country of Wiltshire, just 10 miles from the town of Swindon. Marlborough is believed to have been inhabited since 2400bc and has been known for its markets running since 1204, with currently a market still running twice a week. The town is known for its great natural beauty and whilst walking down one of the widest High Streets in the UK, you will see some characterful old buildings on either side of the road and a range of high street shops including a range of Independent shops and cafes.
Among the range of shops and natural beauty, you will find a selection of beautiful historic buildings including The Merchant’s House and St Peter’s Church. The Merchant’s House is dated from the 17th Century and shows a selection of artefacts and paintings with some of the period features. When looking for a view over the town of Marlborough, there are times when visitors can do a tour of the tower of St Peter’s Church whilst enjoying a café and arts gallery also inside the Church.
The town is also famously known for it’s College which was attended by the Duchess of Cambridge.
There was a white horse cut into the chalk hills nearby in 1804. Surrounded by some beautiful villages like Pewsey, Aldbourne, Ramsbury and Ogbourne St George.
